Here are some wakeboarding movies that I've seen and I'll tell ya what I think of them.

Movie Reviews

UNDERESTIMATED

This movie is sooooo good. My buddy Jesse and his brother Jeremy started up their production company, V-REEL and this is their first release. The best part about this movie is that it highlights Canadian talent. Kevin Henshaw, Chad Sharpe, Steve McKinley have the three best parts in the movie, and theres some solid riding from others like Grubb, Adkinson, Parks, and Briscoe. The cinematography is awesome, as well as the editing. Im not in love with the music end of the video, but I'll admit it does flow pretty well. BUY THIS DVD !!!!

Best wakeboarding movie of all time. 'nuff said. If you've seen it then you understand. Grubb and Kovacich display the best wakeskating of all time. Shane throws down some crazy stuff on the rails and off the wake. Harf shows off the best triple up, JD Webb, Parks Bonifay, and Chad Sharpe all rule it. Robby Stru hucks some mad technical tricks including a few 9's, crow mobe 5's and osmisis'. The U Haul Truck Gap slider at the end is just sick.... Once again, best wakeboarding movie ever.

INCOMPLETE

I loved this movie just for the fact that the riders filmed and edited the whole thing. Its got cool stuff thats probably not seen too often, ie parks' whirly 7 and the gnarl quarter pipe. The fact that each rider edited their own section makes it more personal than any other wakeboarding movie out there. The music is good, the riding is even better, and the fact that more and more people are getting into editing is sweet. The only downfall of the movie is that Watson was injured, so his part is super short, but still rad.

THE FACTION

This movie had lots of talent but needed some more original aspects instead of just a bunch of tricks and some recycled footage thrown together with music. The girls had a good part, and Shawn, Parks and Shane dominate on the rails (most of which were seen in both project watson and incomplete) A good movie overall, but kinda not as good as other ones I've seen lately.

PROJECT WATSON

This is a film documentary of Shawn Watson. It takes a deep look at his wakeboarding life as well as his home life. It includes other riders such as Shane Bonifay, Gregg Necrason, Shaun Moore and Chad Morin too. Music by NOFX, Lagwagon, Mad Caddies and more. Highlights include a HUGE gap slider over land which Gregg brakes 3 ribs on. It also shows Shawn's win at the Nationals as well as a day of filming for Bump Films new video "The Faction" (Shaft 3). Overall this is a sick video with lots of buttery 9's and rodeos by Shawn and some punk riding from his friends too.

Wide Awake

The new Liquid Force Team Video - features the whole crew including Shawn, Gregg, Shane, Thomas, Matt, Chase, Froggy, Tadpole, J.D. Webb, Aaron Grace, Emily Copeland, and Tina Bessigner. Tons of great riding - sweet spinnig from gregg and shawn including some TS9's, lots of sliders, helicopters, and goofy stuff and the most unreal wakeskating I've ever seen. Best music on this video, NOFX, Pennywise, Face To Face, Unwritten Law and more. You can preview it at www.liquidforce.com

12 Honkeys

This is a pretty funny movie with a lot of good riding in it by a huge cast of pros. Put out by Sidewayz recently, it includes sick footage of Robby Stru, Danny Harf, Shawn Watson, Gregg Necrason, Parks and Shane, Darin Shapiro, Scott Byerly and the list goes on. HUGE sliders in this movie from the tops of boathouses, wakeboarding on the side of the road behind a car and a bunch of stuff in those fan boats and motorcycles and stuff. The Frikin Chicken was pretty funny too. More info go to www.sidewayz.com

Monkey On A String

This was a well shot wakeboarding video by FLF Films. Lots of insane riding in tons of locations. Riders like Byerly, Watson, Murray, Wright, Harf, Shapiro and more. Some sick Off axis Spins and Rodeos by Shawn, some 9's by harf and lots of crazy rock jumping by Byerly. Really good crash section and lots of good tunes.
